The famous romance story where ‘nobody puts baby in the corner’ continues its triumph on stage in this its fourth year at Aldwych Theatre in London. The success of the musical could not have been predicted despite the sensation it caused when it first hit the stage in Australia. The show became the highest pre-selling musical in the history of London’s West End theatres.
The musical opened in 2004 in Australia and in 2005 in London. Since then the show has gone from strength to strength resulting in performances in he Netherlands, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and Boston. The stage performance has undoubtedly lived up to the success and magic of the film version. Further interest in the show has been generated by the twentieth anniversary re-release of the film and the television show ‘Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life’.
