The play, showing at the Noel Coward Theatre on London’s West End, has already entertained audiences at its premier at the Chichester Festival theatre.
The show then took to the road as they toured the country and generated a buzz. The West End show, playing between Saturday 11th April 2009 to Saturday 27th April 2009, already has people fighting for cheaper theatre tickets. The play tells the story of a group of friends that met through the Women’s Institute in a Yorkshire town. The sassy women decide to make a naked calendar to raise money for charity following the death of one of the ladies husbands.
The women cause quite a stir with their revealing photos and the women are pushed into the lime light. The movie, based on a true story, provided much of the frame work for the play as it produces laughs and tears to a wide range of audiences. Its brief stint on London’s West End is not to be missed as it promises the same quality entertainment as the film.
